Inside the sanctuary:
- Spaces are available for wheelchairs and walkers in the center seating areas.
- Hearing assistance devices are available for those who use compatible hearing aids.
- Worship lyrics, liturgy, and hymns are displayed on screens and available in hymnals.
- Bulletins include:
- order of worship
- hymn numbers
- Lord’s Prayer page numbers
- Apostles’ Creed page numbers
- Doxology page numbers
- During worship, the congregation is sometimes invited to stand for hymns or portions of the service. Both the bulletin and verbal announcements often include the phrase “stand if able.”
Standing is never required, and guests are welcome to remain seated at any time during worship.
We want every person to feel comfortable participating at their own ability and comfort level.

Communion Accessibility
During Communion services, the elements may be brought directly to those who remain seated.
At the beginning of Communion, instructions are given that anyone remaining in their seat will be served where they are seated.
If you know ahead of time that you would prefer Communion to be brought to you, you are welcome to let a greeter, usher, or pastor know so we can better assist you.

What should I wear to worship?
You are welcome to come as you are. At Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, you will find a variety of styles, from casual clothing to more traditional Sunday attire. We want you to feel comfortable and welcomed.
What are worship services like?
Our worship services include prayer, Scripture reading, congregational singing, music, a sermon, and opportunities to grow in faith together.
Many parts of worship are displayed on screens and also available in hymnals and printed bulletins.
Worship at Pleasant Grove UMC seeks to connect faith with everyday life through worship, study, prayer, service, and Christian community.
Do I need to know Methodist traditions or responses?
No. You are welcome to participate at your comfort level.
Bulletins include the order of worship, hymn numbers, and page numbers for items such as:
- The Lord’s Prayer

Many worship responses and song lyrics are also displayed on screens to help guests follow along easily.
Do I have to stand during worship?
