Homebound and Online Worship Support

Connected in Faith, Wherever You Are

There are seasons in life when attending church in person becomes difficult. Health concerns, recovery from illness or surgery, caregiving responsibilities, limited mobility, transportation challenges, or other circumstances may make it impossible to participate in worship and church activities as often as desired.

Even when attendance is not possible, you remain an important part of the church family.

At Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, we believe that physical distance should never mean spiritual isolation. Through prayer, worship, communication, and caring relationships, we seek to help people remain connected to God and to one another.

Staying Connected to Worship

Worship is one of the primary ways we grow in our relationship with God. Gathering with other believers encourages our faith and reminds us that we are part of something larger than ourselves.

When attending in person is not possible, online worship can provide opportunities to continue participating in the life of the church.

Online worship allows individuals to:

Hear God’s Word

Participate in prayer

Join in worship services

Stay informed about church life

Remain connected to the church community

While online worship cannot replace every aspect of gathering in person, it helps maintain important spiritual connections during challenging seasons.

You Are Still Part of the Church Family

The church is more than a building. It is a community of believers joined together through faith in Jesus Christ.

Whether you worship from a pew, a hospital room, a rehabilitation center, an assisted living facility, or your own home, you remain part of the body of Christ.

Your prayers, encouragement, wisdom, and faith continue to bless the church and the people around you.

Caring for One Another

Throughout Scripture, believers are called to care for one another.

One way the church lives out this calling is by reaching out to those who are unable to attend regularly.

This support may include:

Prayer

Phone calls

Cards and notes

Visits

Communion ministry

Church updates and information

Online worship opportunities

Simple reminders that no one is forgotten

Small acts of kindness often become powerful reminders of God’s love.

Encouragement for Caregivers

Many people who worship from home are also caring for spouses, parents, family members, or friends.

Caregiving can be both rewarding and exhausting. Maintaining a connection to worship and Christian community can provide encouragement, strength, and spiritual renewal during demanding seasons of life.

Caregivers also need support, prayer, and opportunities to experience God’s presence.

Growing Spiritually Wherever You Are

A person’s spiritual journey does not stop because circumstances change.

God continues to meet us wherever we are.

Through prayer, Scripture reading, worship, Christian fellowship, and the work of the Holy Spirit, we can continue growing in faith regardless of our physical limitations.

Even during difficult seasons, God remains near.

A Place for Everyone

Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church desires to be a church where every person feels valued, connected, and loved.

Whether you worship in person every week, join online regularly, or are temporarily unable to attend, you are an important part of our church family.

We are stronger when we walk together, support one another, and remain connected through faith and love.

For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” — Matthew 18:20
