Walk to Emmaus

Walk to Emmaus
A Journey of Renewal and Grace
Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal experience that helps people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, deepen faith, and return home encouraged for everyday discipleship.
Many members and friends of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church have found the Emmaus experience meaningful, life-giving, and spiritually strengthening.
Why the Name Emmaus?
The name comes from Luke 24, where two disciples walked the road to Emmaus after the resurrection.
As they walked, Jesus came alongside them, opened the Scriptures, and their hearts were changed.
Emmaus reminds us that Christ still meets people on the journey.
What Is the Experience Like?
Emmaus is typically a weekend retreat focused on:
- God’s grace
- Worship and prayer
- Christian community
- Biblical teaching
- Personal renewal
- Encouragement for discipleship
- Returning home refreshed for service
It is designed to strengthen believers in everyday faith.
Who Is It For?
Emmaus is for adults who desire to grow spiritually and deepen their walk with Christ.
People from many church backgrounds participate.
Whether you have followed Christ for years or simply desire renewal, Emmaus may be a blessing to you.
What Happens After the Weekend?
The goal is not only a weekend experience—it is lifelong discipleship.
Many participants return with renewed joy for:
- Prayer
- Worship
- Serving others
- Bible study
- Church involvement
- Encouraging others in faith
