Food and Fellowship at the Harvest Festival
Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church

One of the most meaningful parts of the Harvest Festival at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church is the opportunity to gather together around food and fellowship.
For many years, families, church members, neighbors, and visitors from across the Birmingham area have shared meals, conversations, laughter, and memories during this special community tradition.
The aroma of homemade soups, chili, sandwiches, desserts, and fresh food fills the Family Life Center as volunteers work together preparing and serving meals throughout the festival.
At Pleasant Grove UMC, we believe fellowship around the table is one of the ways God brings people together.
The Harvest Festival reminds us that ministry often happens through simple acts of hospitality, conversation, welcoming others, and sharing life together.
Preparing the Meals

Preparing food for the Harvest Festival takes planning, teamwork, organization, and many helping hands.
Volunteers gather in kitchens and fellowship areas to cook, prepare ingredients, organize serving stations, and prepare meals for guests throughout the day.
Large pots of soup and chili, trays of sandwiches, desserts, drinks, and homemade dishes quickly fill the kitchen and serving areas as preparations come together.

Serving Together

Serving meals during the Harvest Festival is one of the many ways church members work together in ministry.
Volunteers greet guests, prepare plates, refill serving tables, help in the kitchen, clean up, and make sure visitors feel welcome throughout the day.
Behind every meal served are countless acts of kindness, teamwork, and dedication from volunteers who give their time to serve others.
Fellowship Around the Tables

The Family Life Center becomes a gathering place filled with conversation, laughter, reconnecting, and community throughout the festival.
