Season 6: The King Is Coming
Introduction
The Book of Revelation contains some of the most challenging and symbolic passages in Scripture.
Many readers focus on the images, symbols, and debates surrounding these chapters.
Yet the original purpose of Revelation was not to create fear.
It was to encourage faithfulness.
The first Christians faced persecution, pressure, uncertainty, and suffering. They needed assurance that God had not abandoned them and that evil would not ultimately prevail.
Revelation 6–20 repeatedly points believers toward a simple truth:
Remain faithful.
God is still at work.
Christ is still victorious.
The story is moving toward God’s promised future.
These chapters remind Christians that faithfulness matters even when circumstances are difficult.

Historical Background
The believers who first received Revelation lived in a world where following Christ could be costly.
Some faced persecution.
Others faced pressure to compromise their faith.
Still others struggled with fear and uncertainty.
Revelation uses vivid images and symbols to reveal spiritual realities.
The message was clear:
Evil is real.
Suffering is real.
Opposition is real.
But God’s victory is certain.
The focus is not on predicting every detail of the future.
The focus is on remaining faithful to Christ.

(Revelation 6–11)
John describes a world marked by struggle, hardship, and uncertainty.
The imagery reminds believers that life in a fallen world includes suffering and challenges.
Yet even in difficult times, God remains sovereign.

Believers are called to trust Him.
The Great Spiritual Battle
(Revelation 12)
Revelation presents a symbolic picture of the conflict between good and evil.
The dragon represents opposition to God’s purposes.
The victory belongs not to human strength but to Christ.
Believers overcome through:
The blood of the Lamb
The word of their testimony
Faithful perseverance
The battle is spiritual, but God’s victory is certain.
Remaining Faithful
(Revelation 13–14)
The pressures facing believers may take different forms in different generations.
Some face persecution.
Some face temptation.
Some face compromise.
Revelation calls God’s people to remain faithful regardless of circumstances.
Faithfulness matters more than popularity, comfort, or approval.
God’s Justice and Victory
(Revelation 15–19)
These chapters remind believers that evil will not prevail forever.
God is just.
God is holy.
God’s purposes will ultimately be fulfilled.
The return of Christ brings the final victory.
The King of Kings reigns.
The Triumph of Christ
(Revelation 19–20)
The story moves toward victory.
Christ defeats evil.
God’s kingdom is established.
The promises of God are fulfilled.
The focus remains on Jesus Christ and His triumph.
The future belongs to Him.
Reasons We Believe
Christ Has Already Won the Ultimate Victory
The death and resurrection of Jesus provide the foundation for Christian hope.
Faithfulness Matters
Believers are called to remain faithful regardless of circumstances.
Evil Will Not Have the Final Word
Revelation assures Christians that God’s purposes will prevail.
God Strengthens His People
The Holy Spirit empowers believers to persevere through every challenge.
Obedience in Action
Faithful Through Trials challenges believers to ask:
How do I respond when faith becomes difficult?
What pressures challenge my commitment to Christ?
Am I remaining faithful in both easy and difficult seasons?
How can I encourage others who are struggling?
What gives me confidence when the future seems uncertain?
God calls believers to trust Him one day at a time.

Consider these questions:
Why do you think Revelation emphasizes perseverance?
How does Christ’s victory encourage believers?
What challenges to faith do Christians face today?
How can believers remain faithful during difficult seasons?
What role does Christian community play in perseverance?
Possible Responses
You may identify areas where greater trust is needed.
You may recognize how God has sustained you through challenges.
You may feel called to encourage someone who is struggling.
Living the Message
Most Christians will never face the exact circumstances described in Revelation.
Yet every believer faces moments that require perseverance.
Disappointment.
Temptation.
Fear.
Loss.
Pressure.
Uncertainty.
The message of Revelation remains relevant because it reminds believers to keep their eyes on Christ.
Faithfulness is not about knowing every detail of the future.
Faithfulness is about trusting the One who holds the future.
Hold Fast
Again and again, Revelation calls believers to remain faithful.
Not because life is easy.
Not because challenges disappear.
But because Jesus Christ is Lord.
The same Christ who sustained the early Church continues to strengthen His people today.
Believers can persevere because the victory ultimately belongs to Him.
