Learn the Story of Jesus

Walking Through the Life, Teachings, Ministry, Death, Resurrection, and Return of Jesus Christ

Walking Through the Life, Teachings, Ministry, Death, Resurrection, and Return of Jesus Christ

Who is Jesus?

Why did He come?

Why do billions of people throughout history believe His life changed the world forever?

Learn the Story of Jesus is a guided journey through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

This learning path helps people explore who Jesus is, what He taught, why His miracles mattered, how His death and resurrection changed history, how the Old Testament points toward Him, and how His teachings still shape Christian faith and daily life today.

Whether someone is brand new to the Bible or has studied Scripture for many years, this series is designed to help people understand the story of Jesus in a clear, meaningful, and practical way.

Throughout these lessons, we will walk step-by-step through the world Jesus entered, the culture and traditions of His time, the people He met, the miracles He performed, the parables He taught, the cross and resurrection, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and the promise of His return.

This series also helps connect the Old Testament, the life of Jesus, the birth of the Church, and Christian discipleship today.

Jesus did not appear suddenly in history without preparation.

For generations, God’s people waited for the promised Messiah.

The Old Testament prophets spoke of a Savior who would bring redemption, healing, hope, peace, and restoration.

The story of Jesus is the fulfillment of those promises.

What Does “Messiah” Mean?

The word Messiah means “Anointed One.”

In the Bible, God often chose and anointed kings, priests, and prophets for special purposes.

The promised Messiah would be the Savior sent by God.

In the New Testament, the Greek word Christ carries the same meaning.

Jesus Christ does not mean Jesus’ last name.

It means Jesus the Messiah.

Christians believe Jesus is the promised Savior, the Son of God, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, the King of Kings, the Lamb of God, and the risen Lord.

Understanding the World of Jesus

One goal of this series is to help readers understand the world Jesus lived in.

Many people today are unfamiliar with Jewish customs, Temple worship, biblical feasts and festivals, shepherding imagery, farming illustrations, Roman rule, synagogues, Pharisees and Sadducees, and first-century culture and traditions.

Throughout this series, lessons will include Understanding Jesus sections.

These sections explain cultural background, historical details, traditions, symbols, geography, and everyday life during the time of Jesus.

Understanding these details often helps readers better understand Jesus’ teachings, His miracles, His parables, His interactions with people, and the meaning behind important events.

Feasts and Festivals in the Time of Jesus

Jesus lived within the worship life and traditions of the Jewish people.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus participated in biblical feasts and festivals that were first introduced in the Old Testament.

Many of these festivals pointed forward to Jesus and help Christians better understand His mission.

Future lessons will explore Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Tabernacles, and the Feast of Dedication, also called Hanukkah.

We will also study Leviticus 23, the Jewish calendar, Jewish months and holy days, worship traditions during the time of Jesus, how biblical feasts connect to Jesus’ first coming, and how some feasts point toward Christ’s future return.

The Four Messianic Miracles

Some Jewish religious leaders believed certain miracles could only be performed by the Messiah.

Future lessons will explore several miracles connected to these expectations, including healing a Jewish leper, healing a man born blind, casting out a mute spirit, and raising the dead after several days.

These miracles became important signs pointing toward Jesus’ identity.

They also increased both faith and opposition during His ministry.

Why the Story of Jesus Matters

The story of Jesus is not only about history.

Christians believe Jesus changes lives today.

His teachings continue to shape faith, worship, forgiveness, compassion, prayer, service, hope, and eternal life.

Jesus welcomed people from many backgrounds.

He taught with compassion.

He healed the broken.

He challenged hypocrisy.

He showed love toward sinners, outcasts, the poor, and the hurting.

He called people to follow God with their whole hearts.

Christians believe Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again through the power of God.

Because of this, Christians believe forgiveness, salvation, and eternal hope are available through Him.
