The Omniscience of God
God Knows All Things Perfectly
The omniscience of God is one of His most awe-inspiring attributes.
God knows everything.
Nothing has ever surprised Him.
Nothing is hidden from His sight.
He knows the past, the present, and the future perfectly. He knows every detail of creation, every event in history, every thought of every heart, and every possibility that could ever exist.
God never learns something new.
He never forgets.
He never misunderstands.
His knowledge is complete, perfect, and eternal.

God knows all things perfectly. Nothing is hidden from His sight, and His perfect knowledge guides His people with wisdom, love, and faithfulness.
What Does Omniscience Mean?
The word omniscience means “all-knowing.”
God possesses complete and perfect knowledge of everything.
He knows:
Everything that has happened.
Everything happening now.
Everything that will happen.
Every person.
Every place.
Every thought.
Every word.
Every action.
Nothing escapes His attention.
Nothing is beyond His understanding.
God’s Knowledge of Creation
God knows every part of His creation.
He knows the stars He created.
He knows every living creature.
He knows every mountain, ocean, forest, and desert.
He knows every detail of the universe because He designed and sustains it.
Creation reflects both His infinite wisdom and His perfect knowledge.
God Knows Us Personally
One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that God knows each of us completely.
He knows our strengths.
He knows our weaknesses.
He knows our joys.
He knows our sorrows.
He knows our hopes.
He knows our fears.
He knows every prayer before we speak it.
Even though God knows everything about us, He still loves us completely.
Nothing about our lives surprises Him.
Nothing can separate us from His love.
God’s Knowledge and His Guidance
Because God knows all things, His guidance is always trustworthy.
He sees the entire picture while we see only a small part.
He understands every consequence before it happens.
He knows the best path for our lives.
Even when we cannot understand why certain events occur, we can trust that God’s knowledge is perfect and His plans are good.
Does God’s Knowledge Remove Human Responsibility?
No.
The Bible teaches both God’s complete knowledge and human responsibility.
God knows every choice we will make, yet He calls us to trust Him, obey His Word, and respond to His grace.
His perfect knowledge never removes our responsibility to faithfully follow Him.
Instead, it gives us confidence that His purposes will ultimately be accomplished.
Living in the Presence of the All-Knowing God
Knowing that God sees and knows everything changes how we live.
It encourages honesty.
It inspires worship.
It strengthens our faith.
It reminds us that we are never alone.
God knows our deepest struggles, yet He continues to love, forgive, and guide us with perfect wisdom and compassion.
The Comfort of God’s Omniscience
God’s perfect knowledge should not cause fear for those who trust Him.
Instead, it brings comfort.
He knows exactly what we need.
He understands our pain.
He remembers every promise He has made.
He never overlooks His children.
Because God knows all things, we can confidently place our lives into His loving hands.
