God’s Undeserved Favor for a Broken World
Grace is one of the most beautiful truths found in the Bible.
The grace of God is His undeserved favor, love, and kindness shown to people who could never earn it. From the beginning of Scripture to the final pages of Revelation, God’s grace is woven throughout His plan of redemption.
Because of His grace, God reaches out to sinful people, offers forgiveness through Jesus Christ, transforms believers by the Holy Spirit, and promises eternal life to all who trust in Him.
Grace is not merely something God gives.
Grace reveals who God is.
God’s grace is His undeserved gift of love and mercy, freely given through Jesus Christ to bring forgiveness, transformation, and eternal hope.
What Is Grace?
Grace is God’s free and unearned gift of love and favor.
It cannot be purchased.
It cannot be earned through good works.
It cannot be deserved.
Grace is given because God is loving, merciful, and faithful.
Every blessing we receive from God is ultimately an expression of His grace.
Why Do We Need God’s Grace?
The Bible teaches that every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect holiness.
Because of sin, we are unable to save ourselves or restore our relationship with God.
Without God’s grace, we would remain separated from Him.
Grace is God’s answer to humanity’s greatest need.
Through His grace, God provides forgiveness, reconciliation, salvation, and the hope of eternal life.
Grace Revealed Through Jesus Christ
The greatest demonstration of God’s grace is found in Jesus Christ.
God sent His Son into the world not because we deserved His love, but because He loved us.
Jesus lived the sinless life we could never live.
He died on the cross for our sins.
He rose again, conquering sin and death.
Through faith in Him, we receive God’s gracious gift of salvation.
The Three Expressions of Grace
In the Wesleyan tradition, God’s grace is often understood in three complementary ways.
Prevenient Grace
Before we ever seek God, He is already at work drawing us to Himself.
Prevenient grace prepares our hearts, awakens our spiritual awareness, and invites us to respond to His love.
Justifying Grace
When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, God forgives our sins, declares us righteous, and restores us to Himself.
Justifying grace is God’s saving work through Christ.
Sanctifying Grace
After salvation, God’s grace continues transforming believers through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Sanctifying grace shapes our character, strengthens our faith, and helps us become more like Jesus Christ.
Grace Changes Our Lives
God’s grace is more than the beginning of the Christian life.
It sustains us every day.
His grace gives us strength during trials.
It offers forgiveness when we fail.
It teaches us to extend mercy to others.
It gives us hope when we are discouraged.
It reminds us that God is always faithful.
As we experience His grace, we are called to live with gratitude, humility, generosity, and love.
Can We Earn God’s Grace?
No.
Grace is God’s gift.
Good works do not earn His grace.
Instead, good works are the fruit of a life that has already been transformed by His grace.
The Christian life is lived in thankful response to what God has already done for us.
Living in God’s Grace
Every day is an opportunity to depend upon God’s grace.
His grace gives us courage to face tomorrow.
His grace comforts us in suffering.
His grace strengthens us in weakness.
His grace assures us that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Because of God’s grace, believers can live with confidence, joy, and hope.
