Salvation

Salvation: From Death to Life Through Jesus Christ
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ offers forgiveness of sins, new life, and the promise of eternal life to all who trust in Him.
Salvation is God’s gracious gift through Jesus Christ, rescuing us from sin and restoring us to a right relationship with God.
The Bible teaches that all people have sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard. Because of His great love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again from the dead. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we receive forgiveness, new life, and the promise of eternal life.
Salvation is not something we earn through good works. It is a gift of God’s grace received through faith.

What We Believe
Humanity Needs Salvation
God created humanity for fellowship with Him, but sin entered the world and separated people from God. Every person needs God’s forgiveness and redemption.
Jesus Is the Savior
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Through His death and resurrection, He paid the penalty for sin and opened the way for reconciliation with God.
Salvation Is by Grace Through Faith
Justification: Made Right with God
Justification is God’s gracious act of forgiving our sins and declaring us righteous through faith in Jesus Christ.
Because all people have sinned, we cannot make ourselves right with God through good works, religious activity, or personal effort. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God provides forgiveness and reconciliation for those who place their faith in Him.
When we trust in Christ, God forgives our sins, removes our guilt, and restores us to a right relationship with Himself. This is called justification.
Justification is not something we earn. It is a gift of God’s grace received through faith.
The Apostle Paul wrote:
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)
Because of justification:
We are forgiven.
We are reconciled to God.
We have peace with God.
We are adopted into God’s family.
We receive assurance of God’s saving grace.

Justification and New Birth
In Wesleyan theology, justification and new birth occur together.
Justification refers to what God does for us—declaring us forgiven and restored.
The new birth refers to what God does within us—giving us new spiritual life through the Holy Spirit.
Because of God’s grace, believers are both forgiven and transformed.
This new life becomes the beginning of spiritual growth and sanctification.

Salvation Brings New Life
When a person trusts in Christ, God forgives sin, adopts them into His family, and begins the work of transforming their life through the Holy Spirit.
Salvation Includes Eternal Life
Believers have the assurance that death is not the end. Through Christ, we receive the promise of eternal life and future resurrection.
Understanding Salvation
The Bible uses several important words to describe salvation:
Grace — God’s undeserved favor toward us.
Faith — Trusting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Adoption — Becoming part of God’s family.
Sanctification — Growing in holiness and becoming more like Christ.
Glorification — The future completion of God’s work when believers are raised and made perfect in His presence.
Why This Matters
Salvation is the heart of the Gospel.
Because of Jesus:
We can be forgiven.
We can know God personally.
We can have peace with God.
We can experience new life.
We can face the future with hope.
The Christian faith is not merely about becoming a better person. It is about being made new through the saving work of Jesus Christ.
Living the Message
Because we are saved by grace, we live with gratitude.
Because we are forgiven, we extend forgiveness to others.
Because we have received mercy, we show mercy.
Because we have been given new life, we seek to follow Christ daily.
Because we have hope, we share the Good News with others.
