Praying for Your Church
Strengthening the Body of Christ Through Faithful Prayer
The Church is more than a building or a place we attend on Sundays.
It is the family of God—a community of believers called to worship, grow, serve, and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Every church depends upon God’s guidance, wisdom, and strength to fulfill the mission He has given.
One of the greatest ways we can support our church is through faithful prayer.
When we pray for our church, we ask God to strengthen its leaders, encourage its members, bless its ministries, and help it faithfully proclaim the gospel. Prayer reminds us that the Church belongs to Jesus Christ, and He alone is the head of His Church.

Pray That Christ Will Be Honored
Every church exists to glorify God and point people to Jesus Christ.
Pray that your church will remain faithful to God’s Word and centered on Christ in its worship, teaching, fellowship, and service.
Ask God to help your church reflect His truth, grace, and love in everything it does.
Pray for Your Pastor and Church Leaders
Church leaders carry significant responsibilities.
Pray for your pastor, staff, teachers, ministry leaders, and church volunteers.
Ask God to give them:
Wisdom.
Discernment.
Courage.
Humility.
Strength.
Joy in serving.
Protection from discouragement and temptation.
Pray that they will faithfully lead others closer to Christ.
Pray for Unity
Healthy churches are marked by love and unity.
Pray that members will encourage one another, resolve conflicts with grace, forgive quickly, and work together in harmony.
Ask God to protect your church from division, gossip, pride, and misunderstanding.
May your congregation reflect the love Jesus prayed for among His followers.
Pray for Spiritual Growth
Pray that every member of your church will continue growing in faith.
Ask God to help believers:
Love His Word.
Develop faithful prayer lives.
Use their spiritual gifts.
Serve with joy.
Encourage one another.
Become mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
Healthy churches are built by growing Christians.
Pray for Those in Need
Every church family includes people carrying heavy burdens.
Pray for those who are:
Sick.
Grieving.
Lonely.
Homebound.
Facing financial hardship.
Struggling in their faith.
Experiencing family difficulties.
Ask God to surround them with His comfort, hope, and peace, and help the church respond with compassion and practical care.
Pray for the Church’s Mission
Jesus calls His Church to make disciples and share the gospel.
Pray that your church will faithfully reach its community with the love of Christ.
Ask God to bless worship services, Bible studies, children’s ministries, youth ministries, missions, outreach efforts, and every opportunity to serve others in His name.
Pray that many lives will be transformed through the ministry of your church.
Pray for Future Generations
The Church has the privilege of passing the faith to the next generation.
Pray for children, students, young adults, parents, grandparents, teachers, and volunteers.
Ask God to raise up future leaders who will faithfully serve Him and proclaim His truth.
May every generation help the next one grow in faith.
Be Part of the Answer
Prayer and service belong together.
As you pray for your church, ask God how He might use you.
Perhaps He is calling you to encourage someone, volunteer in a ministry, welcome a visitor, teach a class, visit a homebound member, or simply pray faithfully for others.
God often answers prayers by working through willing people.
