God Has a Place for You
When we become followers of Jesus Christ, God not only saves us—He also calls us to serve. Every Christian has unique abilities, experiences, talents, and spiritual gifts that God can use to bless others and advance His kingdom.
You do not have to be a pastor, teacher, or church leader to make a difference. Every believer has something valuable to contribute. God has created each person with a purpose, and He invites us to join Him in His work.
Serving God by Serving Others
God gives every believer unique gifts and opportunities to make a difference through service, compassion, and ministry.
Why Do Christians Serve?
Jesus came not to be served but to serve.
Throughout His ministry, Jesus cared for people, taught the truth, healed the hurting, and showed God’s love through His actions.
As followers of Christ, we are called to follow His example.
Serving helps us:
Grow in our faith
Show God’s love to others
Strengthen the church
Meet practical needs
Build relationships
Participate in God’s mission
When we serve, we become the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
What Are Spiritual Gifts?
Spiritual gifts are special abilities given by the Holy Spirit to help believers serve God and others.
Some gifts are highly visible, while others work quietly behind the scenes. All are important.
God gives different gifts to different people so that the church can work together as one body.
No gift is more important than another. Every gift has value.
Discovering Your Gifts
Many Christians discover their gifts over time through prayer, service, learning, and experience.
As you grow in faith, ask God:
How have You gifted me?
How can I help others?
Where can I serve?
What opportunities are You placing before me?
God often reveals our gifts as we begin serving faithfully.
Serving in the Church
The church offers many opportunities to serve.
Some people teach children or adults.
Some welcome guests.
Some sing or play music.
Some pray with others.
Some help with technology.
Some prepare meals.
Some visit those who are homebound.
Some work behind the scenes where few people notice.
All of these ministries matter because all of them help people experience God’s love.
Serving Beyond the Church
Serving is not limited to church programs.
Christians serve at home, at work, in schools, in neighborhoods, and throughout the community.
Every act of kindness, compassion, encouragement, and generosity can become an opportunity to reflect Christ.
God often uses ordinary people in ordinary places to accomplish extraordinary things.
Every Gift Matters
Sometimes people believe they have nothing important to offer.
The Bible teaches otherwise.
God intentionally created each believer with unique gifts and abilities.
Whether your gift is teaching, helping, encouraging, organizing, praying, leading, giving, serving, or showing compassion, God can use it for His glory.
There are no insignificant gifts in God’s kingdom.
