For followers of Jesus Christ, work is more than earning a living. It is an opportunity to glorify God, serve others, develop Christlike character, and participate in God’s ongoing work in the world. Whether we are employed, self-employed, retired, volunteering, managing a home, serving in ministry, or caring for family members, every responsibility can become an act of worship when offered to God with faithfulness and gratitude.
The Bible teaches that God created people to work long before sin entered the world. Work itself is not a curse but part of God’s good design. Through our daily responsibilities, we provide for our families, contribute to our communities, care for others, develop our gifts, and reflect the character of our Creator.
Serving Christ through our work means remembering that our ultimate purpose is not simply to impress people or advance our careers. Instead, we seek to honor the Lord in everything we do. Every act of honesty, kindness, diligence, excellence, and service becomes part of our witness for Christ.

Following the Example of Jesus
Jesus spent many years faithfully working as a carpenter before beginning His public ministry.
Throughout His life He demonstrated:

His entire life reminds us that ordinary work can glorify God when done with a willing heart.
