Using Our Words to Encourage, Strengthen, and Reflect Christ
Words are powerful. With a few sentences, we can encourage someone who is discouraged, comfort someone who is hurting, strengthen a person’s faith, or inspire hope during difficult times. Unfortunately, words can also wound, discourage, divide, and damage relationships. Scripture reminds us that the way we speak reveals the condition of our hearts.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to use our words differently. Rather than tearing people down, we are to speak words that build others up, communicate grace, and reflect the love of Christ. Whether speaking with family, friends, church members, coworkers, neighbors, or even strangers, our conversations should point people toward hope, truth, and encouragement.
God has entrusted every believer with the opportunity to use words that bring healing, strengthen relationships, and glorify Him.
