50 Quarters for the 50 Days of Easter

Each summer the North Alabama Conference sponsors college-age interns through the Quad W program.  These students work in ministries with those living in poverty and meeting the challenges of food insecurity, insufficient housing, etc.  This summer we’ll have 17 interns in Huntsville and Birmingham.  The conference’s Ministry with the Poor Team is challenging members of our United Methodist churches to collect quarters for the students to do their laundry.  A quarter a day during the season of Easter equals $12.50, which is enough for 4 loads of laundry.  Using laundromats gives the interns another way to interface with those living in the communities they serve.  There are containers in the Narthex, Welcome Center, and Fellowship Hall where you can donate your quarters to help support this important ministry.

To everyone who contributed to the 50 quarters for the 50 days of Easter.  We collected $400 in quarters for the Birmingham-Southern students!
