Lunch and Learn — Eat the Rainbow
Fellowship, Healthy Living, and Everyday Wellness
As part of the Lunch and Learn ministry at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, August 27, 2025, guests gathered for a time of fellowship, food, encouragement, and practical learning focused on healthy eating and everyday wellness.
The “Eat the Rainbow” session encouraged participants to think about how colorful fruits and vegetables can support healthy living and overall well-being through simple everyday choices.
Guests enjoyed learning together around the table while sharing conversation, fellowship, and practical ideas for healthier habits and balanced living.
Lunch and Learn gatherings grew out of the community wellness connections developed through the annual Health Fair ministry at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and continue throughout the year as opportunities for education, encouragement, and community care.
What Does “Eat the Rainbow” Mean?
“Eat the Rainbow” is a simple way of encouraging healthy eating by including a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables in everyday meals.
Different colors often provide different nutrients and health benefits, helping support overall wellness, strength, energy, and healthy living.
The session encouraged participants to think about practical ways small daily choices can help care for the body, mind, and spirit.

- Caring for the body through healthy habits
The gathering focused on practical encouragement rather than perfection, reminding participants that small healthy choices can make a meaningful difference over time.
Fellowship Around the Table
Lunch and Learn gatherings create opportunities not only for learning, but also for friendship, encouragement, and community connection.
At Pleasant Grove UMC, we believe some of the best conversations happen around the table.
Through shared meals, laughter, and learning together, neighbors become family and relationships continue to grow.
Community Support and Partnerships
Lunch and Learn gatherings are supported through community partnerships, volunteers, educational resources, and guests who help encourage wellness and healthy living throughout our community.
