Lunch and Learn — Eye Health and Vision Concerns

Fellowship, Learning, and Caring for Everyday Wellness

As part of the Lunch and Learn ministry at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, guests gathered for a time of fellowship, food, encouragement, and practical learning focused on eye health and vision concerns  on October 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM.

This Lunch and Learn session provided helpful information about caring for eyesight, recognizing vision concerns, understanding common eye conditions, and supporting healthy aging and daily wellness.

The gathering created opportunities not only to learn, but also to connect with neighbors and church family around the table through conversation, encouragement, and community care.

Lunch and Learn gatherings grew out of the community wellness connections developed through the annual Health Fair ministry at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and continue throughout the year as part of our commitment to serving neighbors with compassion and practical support.

Topics Discussed

Topics related to eye health and vision wellness included:

  • Caring for eyesight as we age
  • Recognizing changes in vision
  • Eye health awareness
  • Daily wellness and healthy habits
  • Understanding common vision concerns
  • Encouragement for healthy living and independence

The session encouraged guests to stay informed, ask questions, and care for both physical and emotional well-being through healthy habits, community support, and ongoing wellness awareness.

Fellowship Around the Table

Lunch and Learn is about more than information.

Gatherings like these create opportunities for:

  • friendship

  • conversation
  • laughter
  • community connection
  • caring for one another

At Pleasant Grove UMC, we believe neighbors become family, and learning together is one way relationships continue to grow.
