Free Little Library | Pleasant Grove, Alabama
Share a Book. Share Encouragement.
At Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, our Free Little Library is a simple but meaningful way to share the joy of reading with our community.
Books have the power to educate, encourage, inspire, and entertain. By making books freely available, we hope to spark curiosity, strengthen families, encourage lifelong learning, and demonstrate Christ’s love through everyday acts of kindness.
Whether you are looking for your next great read or have books you’d like to share, everyone is welcome.
The First Free Little Library in Pleasant Grove
Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church is proud to be home to the first Free Little Library in Pleasant Grove, Alabama.
This ministry became possible through the leadership and service of Eagle Scout Ryder Dean, whose project continues to bless readers throughout our community.
What began as an Eagle Scout project has become a place where neighbors connect, children discover the joy of reading, and books find new homes.

Why Reading Matters
Reading opens doors.
A single book can inspire a child to dream, help a student learn, encourage someone during a difficult season, or simply provide a few peaceful moments at the end of a long day.
Through this ministry, Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church hopes to place books—and hope—into the hands of our neighbors.
How You Can Help
You can support this ministry by donating clean, gently used books in good condition.
Children’s books, beginning readers, and young adult books are especially appreciated, but books for all ages are welcome.
If the library is completely full, please contact the church about additional donation opportunities.
Every donated book becomes a gift to someone in our community.

Come and See
We believe hope can be shared in many ways.
Sometimes hope is found in a conversation.
Sometimes it comes through an act of kindness.
And sometimes it begins with a free book waiting to be opened.
We invite you to stop by, take a book, leave a book, and become part of this growing community ministry.

Share a Book. Share Encouragement.
The Little Library is one way we serve our community with generosity..
